“Meri Bahuain” is a family drama that explores the dynamics, rivalry and emotional complexities between members of an extended household.
At the heart of the story is the relationship between a mother (or elder matriarch) of the house and her daughters-in-law. What appears on the surface as a conventional, peaceful household gradually reveals struggles for power, dominance, control and recognition within the family structure.
The narrative shows how even kind-hearted people can be changed by jealousy, manipulation, lies and the pressure to “keep face” in society.
